Our Services
Attic Trusses
An attic truss is a support feature found in many home or building attics. This truss structure functions as holding up the roof of the home or building and helps the roof resist lateral stresses from wind, snow loads, and debris. A home is likely to have a series of attic truss supports running the length of the building. The two most common types are king trusses and queen trusses. These two designs can be used independently or in conjunction with each other. The queen attic truss system is often used to transform an attic space from a simple storage unit into a usable living space by freeing up space in the center of the attic. King trusses are generally used for smaller roofs, or they are used on top of a queen truss.
Floor Trusses
Floor trusses allow for maximum structural efficiency and speed of installation. The spans and girder truss options reduce the need for intermediate bearing walls, beams, columns and footings which can save on time and construction costs. With these trusses special bearing, cantilever and balcony details are easily built in. Floor trusses also create a more solid floor with less warping or twisting.
Pole Barn Trusses
Pole framing or post framing construction is a simplified building technique that is an alternative to the labor-intensive traditional timber framing technique. It uses large poles or posts buried in the ground or on a foundation to provide the vertical structural support, along with girts to provide horizontal support. Pole buildings do not require walls but may be open shelters, such as for farm animals or equipment or for use as picnic shelters.
Enclosed pole buildings have exterior curtain walls formed by girts fastened to the exterior of the posts at intervals about 2 feet (0.61 m) on center that carry the siding and any interior load. The walls may be designed as a shear wall to provide structural stability. Other girt systems include framing in between the posts rather than on the outer side of the posts.
Shed Trusses
A shed truss, essential for shed or outbuilding structures, supports the roof and distributes weight to withstand elements like wind and snow. Unlike the more complex king and queen attic trusses, shed trusses are simpler, maximizing interior space for storage or workshops. Their design allows for an unobstructed interior, accommodating a variety of uses.
Scissor Trusses
Scissor trusses are a type of roof truss design where the bottom chord slopes upwards towards the center in a shape resembling open scissors. This design creates a vaulted ceiling on the interior without the need for a traditional attic space. Scissor trusses are often used in buildings where an architectural interest or a sense of openness and space is desired inside, such as in living rooms, churches, or other public spaces.
